Coding and Robotics
At KAS, we aim to instill a lifelong interest in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (commonly known as STEM) and to provide the fun, engaging and hands-on opportunity to explore and experience these concepts for themselves in real life situations.
By nature, our programs in VEX Robotics inherently incorporate all four pillars of STEM. VEX IQ is a snap-together robotics system designed from the ground up to provide this opportunity to future engineers of all skill levels, while VEX EDR, a metal robotics system, is the next level up and allows students to continue in their STEM learning at a more complex level. Both robotics systems, VEX IQ and VEX EDR, require teamwork, problem solving, and leadership for student teams to succeed!
As the NSW Mid-North Coast VEX Robotics Hub, Kempsey Adventist School frequently provides opportunities for local schools and community groups to participate in tournaments and scrimmages that offer their students the chance to learn from each other, compete in a supported and fair competition, and build positive STEM networks between people, both students, teachers and their families.
