Sport

In keeping with Kempsey Adventist School’s (KAS) philosophy of developing in each student their potential in the physical, mental, social and spiritual areas, the school encourages students to be physically active and provides a number of pathways that support involvement in a wide variety of sports.

Students in primary school have PE and sport classes each week, often conducted by a specialist teacher. The NESA PDHPE Syllabus is followed.

KAS offers students in Years 7-12 opportunities during sport classes including, but not limited to:  team games, paddleboarding, water inflatables, beach walking, surfing, golf, ten pin bowling, etc.

Students participate each year in the KAS Swimming, Athletics and Cross Country carnivals.

We are a member of the North Coast Independent Sports Association (NCIS).  This association consists of co-educational independent schools that compete in a variety of sports throughout the year – swimming, cross country, athletics, touch football, soccer, netball and tennis.  Primary and secondary students have the opportunity to be selected for these representative sports, and recognition of their participation is given in assembly and reports. Students also have the opportunity to be nominated to represent the NCIS in other sports that are not a part of the NCIS competitions.

Our students have the opportunity to represent KAS in various carnival days against other independent schools through the North Coast Independent Schools Sports Association (NCIS).

Students may continue on to represent the NCIS in the NSW Combined Independent Schools (CIS) competitions and then to NSW Allschools and then Nationals, either through CIS or through direct nomination, depending on the sport.
